Pubs Further Beyond

country side

The famous English countryside…no matter which part of the world you are from, in my view, when you are little and you are asked to draw a house you always draw an English cottage, with its pitched roof and Georgian sash windows – I can’t think what else the cross across the window may be. Most fairy-tale books, have sketches that portray the countryside as a vista of green hills with sheep, cows and hedges…sounds familiar? Although I love the countryside for many reasons, as a foodie I love the country pubs that it has to offer and surprisingly there are more gastropubs with Michelin Stars outside London than what there are in London, Yorkshire for example has 4 Michelin starred gastropubs. The reason maybe is that there is too much competition in London with other restaurants but nevertheless the ‘sticks’ win when it comes to the numbers and there is nothing better after a countryside hike than entering a warm and cosy country-pub.

In the same vein, as with London Pubs, this part of the blog serves as a guide to anyone that wishes to use it to find new places to experience, it was one of the features I originally envisaged my blog to offer and in the countryside most places offer accommodation as well so you can make a weekend out of it. So I hope you find it useful and you make full use of it…the “little door” on the pubs list takes you to the pub’s website! So check it out:

P.S. As noted previously I have no affiliation with any of these pubs and I receive no tangible benefit from any of them, I doubt any of them are aware of my existence!
